It's been a long time (five years!) since this meme; maybe it's worth another go-round.

Give me a character from any fandom, tv show, movie, book you know that I know and I will tell you:

a. My favorite thing about that character.
b. My least favorite thing about that character.
c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.
d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.
e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.
f. Their ship from hell.

His excellent taste.

Well, there's his persistent failure to grasp that attractive young women can be criminals. Let alone the strong version of that principle, that in his universe all attractive young women bar Georgie are criminals.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

As mentioned before, there really is only Georgie.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

I think last time this came up, I settled on Charley Pollard.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

Babylon 5 — we know the Vorlons like to keep aristocratic British gentlemen on ice for their own purposes. Adam is, presumably, the good cop to Jack the Ripper's bad cop.

f. Their ship from hell.

I think we're looking at Adamant / Face here, aren't we?

g. Their song.

Nothing less than his own theme song, of course.

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

A Life in Two Acts

i. The last bad dream they had.

That's almost certain to be the flashback of Louise betraying him to the Face, that he gets every time he's knocked unconscious.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

Tradition would dictate a mutual kill in a duel to the death with the Face — some variant of the Reichenbach Fall scenario. Failing that, I believe one possible ending for the series would have been Adam voluntarily going back into cold storage to face some future threat.

When I wrote Death on the Marsh, I let him flirt a bit with Cicely Cobtree. Rather a pity for her that she turned him down in favour of her crush on the Scarecrow, given that the Scarecrow has a bad case of the Cartwright Curse.

I think he might work quite well in a Cadfael crossover.

f. Their ship from hell.

I believe there are people who have written Salamander / Jamie. I've never dared to read any of it.

g. Their song.

Post The War Games, Robert Louis Stevenson's version of the Skye Boat Song: Sing me a Song of a Lad that is Gone.

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

I think that's already known — his mini-documentary on the DVD of The Mind Robber was called Highlander: The Jamie McCrimmon Story.

I expect a suppressed memory of his time with the Doctor, sigh.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

This is tricky. In the expanded universe, he lived for decades as a mentally ill pariah and then sacrificed his life to save the Doctor. But since then, Missy has shown up with the Nethersphere and cast the results of every canonical death in the show into question — any character could have been reanimated as a Cyberman, with who knows what effects.

Nobody wants Adam/The Face. Definitely a case of "In the circumstances I'll take 'or die'."

Thanks! Being relatively new to your journal (it hasn't been a year yet), I've been wanting to ask you all about Jamie, but not been sure how. I'd like to say, given that I've got a Highlander: The Series/Cadfael crossover in my great stack of started but never finished WIPs, I could definitely see Jamie in a crossover with Cadfael. Also, wow! I've never seen Robert Louis Stevenson's version of the Skye Boat Song before, and it's really beautiful. Not that I should be surprised, given I love Stevenson.
