Well, I enjoyed it, not least trying to spot the references to the original books. The gimmick is that the stories are set in the present day, so everything has to be replaced with 20th-century equivalents (Watson's watch becomes a mobile phone, and so on). The story last night was basically A Study in Scarlet, minus the American flashback and with the murderer retooled as a serial killer.
