I hope Inspector Lewis isn't too tired of fantasy worlds.
He does live in one, after all. One where people can, unnoticed, steal a valuable sword from under the noses of whoever was supposed to be looking after it, walk through the streets of Oxford with it, and leave it thrust through someone's heart in Radcliffe Square in a shot so OTT in its composition I couldn't stop laughing. Whatever did the murderer use, a cloak of invisibility?
