Give me a character from any fandom, tv show, movie, book you know that I know and I will tell you:
a. My favorite thing about that character.
b. My least favorite thing about that character.
c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.
d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.
e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.
f. Their ship from hell.
g. Their song.
h. The title of their biography or autobiography.
i. The last bad dream they had.
j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

a) His catchphrase.
b) Sometimes, I think he overdoes the slow, significant aspect of his closing monologues. But your mileage may vary.
c) In his own verse, he's an older mentor figure, and they don't normally get the girl. But I wouldn't put it past him to be spending some quality time with Lilith. "Well met, my lady. Once more, it seems, the time has come for you to test your fortitude against the might of my staff..."
d) A skeptic in the Scully mould. Perhaps T'Pol. "The Vulcan Science Directorate has determined that magic is impossible." "Indeed? Then let them explain this. Spell-casting: D. I. S. R. O. B. E."
e) Most of the neat crossovers I can think of would involve characters from the other universe turning up at Knightmare Castle (eg: Sam Tyler as dungeoneer with Gene, Annie and Ray advising). But if the requirement was to send him elsewhere, Babylon 5 uses a lot of high-fantasy tropes so he'd probably feel quite at home. How long Sheridan and Ivanova would put up with him saying "Warning, team!" to them is another matter entirely.
f) Most of the inhabitants of the dungeon, but I really don't see him settling down with Lord Fear's reptilian sidekick. Lissard, I think the name was.
g) "Der, welcher wandert diese Strasse voll Beschwerden" (He who wanders these difficult paths) from Mozart's The Magic Flute.
h) "Ye true and honeʃt accounte of how I, Treguard of Dunʃhelm, came to be maʃter of Knightmare Caʃtle; and of ye many curious adventures that tooke place therein." It would be the publisher who retitled it to "Ooh, nasty!"
i) A prophecy of doom. Which may be why he invites dungeoneers into his castle in the first place; he's looking for the Chosen One foretold in such a prophecy.
j) The fact that he's an older mentor figure pretty much dictates that one day he'll sacrifice himself fighting against impossible odds while his newest apprentice escapes (and later avenges him). I think we can guess what his last words will be, too.

Heh. What can I say? That was very interesting and is tugged at very dim memories somewhere in my head. I don't think I could have managed this much. I think I owe

And of course those would be his last words.
I actually think I read a couple of those spinoff books back in the day; can't really remember anything about them, however...

(Four is called "Tom" because it's a high school AU and, oh, it'd take too long to explain).

I don't have any thoughts regarding the title.

(Sorry. You can't have Zoe this time.) ;-p

a. This.
b. In the episodes I've seen, the way all her adventurousness and resolve go completely out of the window the moment she sees a rat (The Smugglers).
c. What can I say? Polly/Ben cannot be denied.
d. For some reason, I can't get the image of Captain Hastings (as portrayed by Hugh Fraser) out of my mind. She would, of course, wrap him round her little finger.
e. You could put her in The Woman in White, if you wanted the book to be about half the length. I mean, Fosco barely managed to get the better of Marian when she was on her own; with Polly there as well, he'd have no chance.
f. Captain Pike (and no, I don't mean the Star Trek one). Ahar, me hearties.
g. Polly's song would have to be from the 1960s, and I cherish my ignorance of music from that period. *googles* "With A Girl Like You" by the Troggs seems to come from the right year and have suitably Polly/Ben lyrics, but on trying to listen to it I lasted about 15 seconds before hitting the back button.
h. How To Look Your Best When Things Are At Their Worst.
i. Probably one about being trapped in a confined space and unable to move, seeing that she spent most of The Faceless Ones in a crate.
j. Of a heart attack, sitting in her garden. With positively no interference from any Doctors or monsters.

And: Aw... I love this. I'm sorry choosing the song was so traumatic for you, but having listened to that song many a time (my sister had a Heartbeat addiction and went through my Dad's collections of 60s singles. I am very well-versed on that era as a result. But then I have very little taste in music, though I did one rebel by borrowing classical music out of the library. My Dad was genuinely worried by this... ) it's a good choice.
I love the idea of Polly/Hastings, because she would, and also it implies that there's a crossover with Two (or One), Ben and Poirot and a murder going on. Actually, I had this idea about One, Ben and Polly in the 1930s... Also much ♥ for Polly in The Woman in White. I'm not sure if she could out-awesome Marian though. Together, it'd all be sorted before Hartright turned up at the graveside, though - you're right. :-) Especially, as to get to the 1860s she'd need a time machine, so Two, Jamie and Ben were probably also around. Fosco would have no chance.
