I found the live announcement of the new Doctor faintly baffling; there didn't seem to be any particular reason why it should have featured presenter X, or guests Y and Z. Nor why it should have lasted 35 minutes as opposed to 15. Still, it makes a pleasant change from the years of adversity.

(Also, the introduction of a '12^th Doctor' category on Teaspoon is going to throw out all those calculations about who's the most rounded writer).

On a sillier note, I just got bitten by a plotbunny out of the genremixer, based on the prompt: "Tegan Jovanka & Vicki Pallister - Swashbuckler & Cop/detective AU".

If it's important enough for a dedicated live announcement, it's important enough to milk a bit, I guess.

Also: now I've read Tegan doing hardboiled narration, and the attempt to reconcile the accents is giving me a headache.

I think it may have been a problem with it being a live show, that for all the milking, a lot of what they got was moo.

And I'm not going to argue about the difficulty of reconciling First Person Hardboiled with Strine :-)
