Day 2
In your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I can remember that my younger self found the climactic battle scene of Don't Lose Your Head wince-making, because of a firm belief that historical treasures ought not to be destroyed, even if they were fictional historical treasures and even if the person being deprived of them didn't have any right to them. I think I've got over it now, to the extent that I find Armstrong and Miller's Enlightenment sketches amusing.
Day 8
In your own space, make a list of at least 3 things that you like about yourself. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
OK, let's see...
- Under the right conditions, I can perpetrate verse. For this day, I think something like
We're told to blow our trumpets,
would be appropriate. (And now, if I remember rightly, I have to go to prison for singing conceited songs about myself. Two years for each verse).
As hard as they can be blowed,
But the one who makes the loudest sound
Is uproarious Mr Toad! - I have a capacious memory and occasionally it even retains useful information, however unlikely the source. For example, I was able to explain why my brother's then-girlfriend's pineapple jelly hadn't set, on account of remembering this strip (and the one it links to).
- I've still got all my own teeth.
