No ficlets this time, I'm afraid. As usual, I'm only listing the characters for whom there were prompts.
2. Peri Brown [Doctor Who]
3. Lady Constance Schoonmaker [Blandings series, Wodehouse]
4. Nile Etland [The Demon Breed, Schmitz]
6. Ariadne Oliver [Poirot novels and TV series]
7. Jenny Flamisto [Saturday Night Fry]
8. The Bad-Tempered Thing [The Trap Door]
9. Oswin Oswald [Doctor Who]
10. Crispin DeFord [Cities in Flight, Blish]
11. The Master (Jacobi) [Doctor Who]
12. River Song [Doctor Who]
15. Mr Shape [Sapphire and Steel Assignment 4]
lost_spook asked:
- 2 [Peri] and 3 [Lady Constance] go to the supermarket, to buy supplies for 10's [Chris DeFord's] party. Why is 11 [The Master] following them?
Given that he's the Master, I daresay he recognised Peri and decided to follow her on the off-chance that she'd lead him to the Doctor. Or maybe he didn't have anything better to do that afternoon.
- 12 [River] robs a bank, and it is up to 8 [The Thing] and 6 [Ariadne Oliver] to track them down and recover the money. Who wins?
If the Thing catches up with River, she's going to be lunch (though if she's lucky, he might spit her out for being undercooked). But he'd be relying on Ariadne's detective skills to find her, so it depends entirely whether Ariadne stumbles across the vital clue leading them to Stormcage.
The money is never recovered, either way.
daibhid_c asked:
- Nine [Oswin] and eight [The Thing] have decided they really don't like three [Lady Constance], why?
I'm guessing that Lady Constance incarcerated Oswin at Blandings Castle to protect her from an unsuitable suitor. And they don't get more unsuitable than the Bad-Tempered Thing. I'd also say, given the demonstrated capabilities of the Thing and of Oswin, Lady Constance's chances of keeping them apart for any length of time against their will are practically zero.
- Two [Peri] and six [Ariadne Oliver] are going to the cinema. What do they see?
At a guess, the premiere of one of Ariadne's Sven Hjerson novels, as clumsily adapted by a team of witless Hollywood executives. Peri would have been involved in the production in some minor capacity, perhaps as an extra or a runner, as part of an adventure with the Doctor.
- Seven [Jenny Flamisto] has found fifteen's [Mr Shape's] lost pet. Four [Nile Etland] claims it's theirs. Then what happens?
I think Nile's in a whole lot of trouble; she's just managed to get between a supervillain with powers of flight and invisibility, and an extratemporal abomination that can trap people in photographs before they see him coming. So I daresay, in the best tradition of Schmitz heroines, she triumphs against overwhelming odds thanks to her reflexes, sharpshooting skills, resourcefulness, and her uplifted mutant otter sidekicks.
(Mr Shape's pet is presumably a dog with no nose.)
