I don't imagine this will make a lot of sense if you haven't watched The Night of the Doctor, though I don't think it spoils any major elements thereof.

The five reluctant runners staggered over the finishing line, and stood at their best approximations of attention.

"How are you coping?" Charley whispered to Lucie. "I mean, I know your legs..."

"They feel just like normal. That googoo stuff's done the trick, even if it's turned them green too. But times like this, I almost wish I hadn't bothered."

Charley nodded. "I know the feeling. When the Doctor said we were going to be canon, I certainly wasn't expecting—"

"Canon Carolus! Canon Lucianus!" Bishop Octavian barked, from immediately behind them. "No talking in the ranks! Ten pushups, both of you!"
