- 2) Name the fandoms you've written in, and how much you've written in that fandom, and if you still write in it.
Pivot table time again! This looks like another meme not well adapted to those of a fandom-butterfly persuasion. According to AO3, I've used 60 fandom tags (seven of which are variants on 'Doctor Who'). And here they are, weighted by overall word count:
(Note that in the underlying data set, crossovers count twice, once for each fandom. That's why the pie slices for 'Macbeth' and 'Life on Mars' are the same size, and why 'Discworld' comes so far up the list; one of my Jamie's Angels stories has a Discworld(ish) monster in it.)
Some of those fandom tags are only there because of reasonably minor elements in crossovers. For example, 'The Culture' is only present because one of my ficlets is centred around a portable Azad set (and Culture fans will know exactly why such a thing is implausible if not outright ludicrous.
So, I hope you'll forgive me if I restrict my answers to the top ten by word count, and knock out obvious duplicates and minor crossover elements:
Fandom How much? Still writing in this fandom? Doctor Who 505557 words in 143 works Yes Knightmare 33476 words in 3 works Maybe Sapphire and Steel 23568 words in 14 works Maybe Macbeth 23373 words in 1 work No Sherlock Holmes / Sherlock 21718 words in 8 works Maybe Doctor Syn 19455 words in 1 work No Sarah Jane Adventures 19297 words in 9 works Maybe Jane Austen 9297 words in 3 works No Miss Marple - Agatha Christie 6653 words in 4 works Maybe Torchwood 4335 words in 2 works No If I've answered "Maybe" to the question 'Still writing in this fandom?', it means I haven't got anything in the pipeline, but would be prepared to write more in that setting if I could think of a suitable work. "No" tends to mean that I got to the fandom through a one-off crossover, and don't have any plans to return.
I think the main surprise there is how high up the table Knightmare comes, considering that I don't think of myself as particularly active in that fandom.
