14) Ratings – how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?: I've never posted fic that's higher-rated than Teen, and even then if there's the possibility of sex I fade to black after the first kiss, or maybe before. I've got a number of reasons for that policy: one is the nagging worry about what would happen if I wrote a lemon and someone I knew in RL happened to read it. Another is the suspicion that any attempt of mine to write a sex scene would be cringemakingly bad. A third is that I've got a bookcase full of works by much better authors than me, and if they could write stories that work without loving descriptions of people putting body parts inside other body parts, why shouldn't I?
