Fic: Ac Velut In Somnis (2/13)

So, the Knightmare revival came out on Monday. It's here, if you haven't seen it.

I think it worked pretty well, given the inherent difficulty of reviving the show after 20-odd years with the same cast, and having adult fans rather than kidsies competing. The budget and time constraints are all too apparent, and the years haven't been kind to Lord Fear's waistline. (Presumably that's why he's so quick to throw weight-related jibes at Lissard). I agree with various other commenters that the introduction's a little too drawn-out, and that it would have helped if more of the original incidental music and sound effects had been used. The editing also seems a little choppy in places; we'll have to see if the rumoured director's cut improves any of these matters.

Also worth noting: Tim Child's comments on the compromises made.
