I wrote this for Trope Bingo, back in March, because the 'bound together' tag is halfway to cake!fic anyway, and cake!fic deserves to be a trope in its own right. I wasn't quite happy with it at the time; I've now exhumed it and (hopefully) filed off the rough edges.
